About Pecan Hill Farms
Pecan Hill Farms is where tradition and innovation come together to celebrate the best of farm life. What began as a single pecan orchard in Raymond, Mississippi, has grown to include Bass Pecan Company, our U-Pick Berries, and most recently, livestock.
Our story dates back to 1870, when the pecan orchard was first established in Raymond. By 1906, Bass Pecan Company, then located in Lumberton, Mississippi, was selling both pecan trees and pecans. Today, we proudly continue to provide the highest quality of pecans to the public.
In 2002, the current owners purchased the pecan orchard in Raymond, Mississippi, and set about rehabbing and revitalizing the original orchard. Under their care, the size of the orchard grew with tens of thousands of pecan trees planted since that date.
In 2006, the current owners purchased Bass Pecan Company and moved its operations to the Jackson, Mississippi area. Today, we sell only the current year’s crop to ensure peak freshness and flavor, offering In-Shell, Almost Shelled, and Shelled pecans straight from our orchards to your table. Each fall, from mid-October through December, our retail store in Raymond, MS opens for pecan season, welcoming all to enjoy the harvest.
In 2009, we expanded with U-Pick Berries, inviting the community to experience the joy of harvesting fresh blueberries and blackberries by hand at our farm in Raymond. This tradition has quickly become a beloved seasonal outing, offering families not only delicious fruit but also an appreciation for where their food comes from.
In 2024, we broadened our vision once again with the addition of cattle and deer. Looking ahead, Pecan Hill Farms plans to offer grass-fed livestock for sale with the plan to eventually sell venison, elk and beef, raised with care—antibiotic and hormone free as well as free from pesticides and herbicides—continuing our commitment to wholesome, natural products.
At Pecan Hill Farms, we’re proud to honor our past while growing toward a healthy and sustainable future.
